Carnmoney FDC U13s 2 Northend United U13s 4 Saturday 23rd October 2010
The U13s travelled to Mallusk on Saturday to play Carnmoney FDC.
Play started out with Northend dominating much of the play but they just couldn't get the goal they deserved. When a penalty was awarded after ten minutes, Leo Morgan stepped up to the spot to smash the ball home and put the Northend blues one goal up.
Northend continued to dominate play and it wasn't long before they got their second when a superb ball in from Ciaran Neeson was touched on by Leo Morgan and finally smashed into the net by Harry Kilgore.
Carnmoney snatched a goal back with a minute to go in the first half, leaving half time score 2-1 to the Blues.
The second half started exactly as the first and Northend immediately started to dominate their opponents again. It didn't take long for Northend's first chance of the half when a penalty was awarded but the Carnmoney keeper made a good save.
Northend made up for it when five minutes later Josh King smashed the ball into the net from within the Carnmoney box.
Carnmoney tried to fight their way back into the game with an unstoppable shot but Northend snuffed out any chance of a comeback when they added to their tally when Harry Kilgore ran onto a through ball to eventually slot the ball past the helpless Carnmoney keeper, sending Northend home with a valuable and well deserved three points.

Northend United U13s 0 Whitehead Eagles U13s 4 Saturday 2nd October 2010
The U13 team hosted a strong title contending Whitehead Eagles team on Friday night under floodlights at the Showgrounds.
Play started off with Northend dominating much of possession and territory, not allowing Whitehead to get out of their own half. Twenty minutes into the game and Whitehead counter attacked and broke free against Krystian Yaworski, in the Northend net, who was unlucky not to save it.
Michael McCauley was unlucky not to equalise a few moments later when he broke down the left hand side, cut in and saw his shot hit the side netting.
Then late in the first half Whitehead struck again in similar fashion to their first goal leaving the score at 0-2 at half time.
The second half started much like the first but Whitehead again struck with another counter attack and managed to score their third, when the Northend defence was caught out of position.
Krystian Yaworski was called into action again when he parried an initial twenty-five yard strike and then got down to save the loose ball at the feet of the Whitehead strikers, only to get caught in the head by a boot.
Some terrific football from Harry Kilgore had the Whitehead defence panicking and the same player was unlucky not to score, when his left footed strike narrowly went wide. Whitehead ended their goal tally with a fourth goal.
Northend returned to playing their passing game of football in the last ten minutes but it was too little too late, leaving final score 4-0 to Whitehead Eagles.

Upper Ardoyne U13s 1 Northend United U13s 2 Saturday 25th September 2010
Northend left it late in this game to grasp all three points but it was fully deserved due to the effort and hard work put into the game.
The game started with Upper Ardoyne well on top as Northend never got started. They seemed to be asleep and invited pressure on themselves but through some brilliant defending from Captain Michael Carberry and Leo Morgan, United stopped all attacks Upper Ardoyne could throw at them.
Whenever United got started, they played some good football using both wings to good effect and it was thought Harry Kilgore they created their first opportunity. When Harry Kilgore won a free kick, Leo Morgan stepped up and his free kick came back of the post, it fell into the back of Josh King who hit it first time, it too hit the wood work and looped into the air for King to follow in and head home.
United had chance after chance to extend their lead with Aaron Reid and Eoin McCorkindale going close but the score remained 1-0 to Northend at half time.
The second half saw Upper Ardoyne come on strong with the wind at their back. Krystian Jaworski, in the Northend goal, made several good stops and was quick of this line to stop any Upper Ardoyne attack.
Northend failed to defend from an Ardoyne throw in and allowed their striker to shoot past Krystian Jaworski. Northend never stopped playing their passing game of football and in the last two minutes of the game, Conor McCormick made a run into the box and was fouled. Up stepped Josh King to take the resulting penalty kick and smashed the ball into the top corner of the goal, to leave the final score 2-1 to Northend.

Northend United U13s 1 Loughside U13s 1 Saturday 18th September 2010
Northend U13s entertained Loughside at the Showgrounds in rather poor conditions to say the least.
Still in search of their first points of the campaign, play started with Northend dominating much of the possession and playing some great football. The first chance of the game came as some good play from Michael Carberry, Eoin McCorkindale and Harry Kilgore led to the ball going narrowly wide. With chances few and far between Northend played some good football but just could not get the goal they deserved.
Loughside then got their first real chance of the game when a high ball into the penalty area was well saved by Krystian Jaworski, in the Northend goals.
With half time approaching and Northend still dominating play, Eoin McCorkindale ran onto a through ball from Leo Morgan but the Loughside keeper made a good save, to leave the score 0-0 at half time.
The second half started much like the first with Northend dominating much of the play and creating more chances. Completely against the run of play Loughside counter attacked and broke through the Northend defence and their striker scored with a low shot, which Krystian Jaworski got a hand to but saw it go in off the post.
Ten minutes later and an incident in the Loughside goalmouth saw their keeper issued a red card for violent conduct. In what can only be described as a poor advert for youth football, several Loughside players were booked, by the referee, for dissent.
Conor McCormick had the Loughside defence struggling, but unfortunately the ball bobbled on the ground and again went narrowly wide. Loughside came back at Northend, and again Krystian Jaworski came to Northend's rescue, when he pulled off a good save.
With time running out, Northend finally got the goal they deserved, when a ball down the right wing was played into Conor McCormick who squared to Michael McCauley who coolly slotted the ball through the keeper's legs from inside the penalty box, to leave the final score 1-1
Man of the Match: Krystian Jaworski

Comber Rec U13s 8 Northend United 2 Saturday 11th September 2010
A weakened Under 13s team travelled to Comber Rec in search of their first points of the new league campaign. Play started off with Comber dominating most of the play but could not break down a strong Northend defence.
Eventually they found an opening and broke down the left hand side of the pitch and played the ball across the goal to be smashed into the net by a Comber player.
Play continued and Northend struggled to settle and find their rhythm and again Comber played a through ball through the Northend defence. The Comber striker slotted the ball into the net, although the player looked to have been an offside position, to leave the score 2-0
Northend tried to get back into the game when Harry Kilgore made a fantastic run through no less than five Comber players, showing great skill to beat all of them only to unfortunately take the ball too wide from goal and have his shot saved by the Comber goalkeeper.
Gracyan Drezewski, in Northend's goal, was rather busy in the first half and made some marvelous saves to keep his team in the game.
Northend came out in the second half and again tried to find their rhythm but could not get a break. Comber then broke down the right hand side and their right winger cut in to drill a shot high into the Northend net.
Comber began to dominate play and score two quick goals in succession. With the score at 5-0 Northend finally came to life. Harry Kilgore linked onto a long ball from Michael Carberry to cut in only to have his shot saved by the keeper with the rebound being smashed into the net by Jack Dawson.
Five minutes later and a mistake by the Comber goalkeeper from a free kick allowed Harry Kilgore to drill the ball into the Comber goal from ten yards out, leaving the score 5-2
Comber continued to dominate play for the rest of the match, running in three goals in quick succession, leaving final score 8-2 to Comber Rec
Man of the Match: Harry Kilgore

Northend U13s opened their season with a match against Carrick Rangers at Ballymena Showgrounds on Friday night. Play flowed from end to end with no team really dominating the other, in the opening fifteen minutes.
Northend opened the scoring when a great throughball from midfield left Eoin McCorkindale through on goal, only to be upended. Leo Morgan coolly stepped up to beat the keeper with the resultant spot kick.
Northend continued to take the game to Carrick but in the final ten minutes of the first half, allowed in Carrick to score two goals to make the half time score 2-1 to Carrick.
The second half began with the same pattern as the first. Played again flowed from end to end, however Carrick got a lucky break and increased their lead with a shot from twenty yards.
Northend had chances to score when Leo Morgan went on a jinxing run past three defenders but narrowly shot wide of the target.
Carrick Rangers scored a fourth, again a shot from outside the box to make the score 4-1, with ten minutes of the match remaining.
Northend scored another goal five minutes before the end of the game when Eoin McCorkindale broke through and beat the Carrick keeper with a low shot into the corner of the net. With no further scoring, the game ended 4-2 to Carrick Rangers
